Tim Tierney Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Junior is now 4-2 at both number one singles and doubles

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College men’s tennis player Tim Tierney (Woodstock, Ill./Woodstock) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (March 29) for his performance in the team’s 8-1 victory over Lawrence University the previous Saturday (March 24).

Tierney, a junior, teamed with freshman Alex Presman (Deerfield, Ill/Deerfield) for a 9-8 (7-5) victory at number one doubles. He also won a deciding tiebreak at the top singles spot in the lineup in a 1-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7) triumph. He was defeated in both doubles and singles play in the Foresters’ 9-0 loss to UW-La Crosse later in the day.

Tierney is now 4-2 at number one singles with three third-set tiebreak victories this season. He is also 4-2 at number one doubles and 6-2 overall in doubles play.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Tierney also earned the award once last season.
