FORESTERS SNEEK BY WEEKEND TO OPEN SEASON 2-0
The Lake Forest men's tennis team opened their season on Saturday beating both Coe College and the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse by identical 4-3 scores.  Both teams had already played three matches this year.  "This weekend was a great way to start out our run towards a conference championship," commented Coach Eisele.  Both matches came down to Ray Ro's match at No. 4 singles.  "Ray was key in both of our victories this weekend," added Eisele.  "Both matches against Coe and LaCrosse were tied at 3-3 with Ro playing his match, and he came out victorious in both of them."  Both of Ro's matches were also come-from-behind three-set wins.  "It was quite exciting to say the least," said Eisele.
Coach Eisele also praised Jacob Wert for an impressive weekend, as well as the doubles team of Dave Kelly and Shane Bell, who lost an 8-9 tie breaker against one of the top ten ranked teams in the Midwest region.  This weekend was the first win against either LaCrosse or Coe in Lake Forest school history.
The Foresters have the upcoming week off to prepare for a busy spring break schedule in Glendale, Arizona.  They will play Monday through Thursday against teams from varying divisions and regions.   Monday's match will be announced when the team arrives in Arizona.  Tuesday's match pairs LF with Walsh University (an NAIA division I school out of Ohio).  Wednesday features a double header against Oral Roberts University (a division I school out of Texas) and Albian University (a division III school out of Michigan).  The Foresters will complete their play in Arizona on Thursday in a singles tournament, competing against six other schools.  "It will be nice to be outside, but our focus over this break is to get ready for conference play when we get back," emphasized Eisele.
