Lake Forest College
Athletic Department Staff
Mike Wajerski
Sports Information Director

Mike Wajerski has been the Lake Forest College Sports Information Director since 2001. Prior to taking on the role, Wajerski served as the school's head coach of the Men's and Women's Cross-Country teams for three years.

During his days as coach of the Forester runners, Wajerski guided the Women's program to its best-ever conference (fifth place) and Midwest Regional (18th place) finish during a memorable 1999 season. Only one year earlier, his men's program achieved their finest Midwest Regional (25th place) finish.

In 2001, he made the difficult decision to leave the cross-country programs to head the schools sports information department. Wajerski has since made several improvements to the Official Web Site of Forester Athletics. He has continued to maintain and improve personal pages for each of the 300-plus Forester student-athletes with biographies, pictures, and career stats. Wajerski has also researched and added individual and team records for each of Lake Forest's 17 sports.

Wajerski came to Lake Forest in 1998 after four years working at his alma mater, Carthage College, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, as an assistant cross country and track & field coach. In 1994 he earned a Bachelor of arts degree in accounting and international business with a minor in Spanish and earned a third degree in exercise & sports science in 1998.

While at Carthage, Wajerski was a three-sport athlete and earned five varsity letters in baseball (2), cross-country (1), and track & field (2). He was twice (1993-1994) named an all-conference decathlete in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Conference and set a school record in the decathlon in 1994.

Wajerski resides in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, with his wonderful wife Sarah and sons Alex and Ben.
