Philip Sokody '61 
Growing up in Elgin, Illinois, Philip attended Elgin High School and participated in basketball and baseball.  He was also a member of the chorus and Student Council.

He entered Lake Forest in 1957 and went on to earn four varsity letters in basketball.  During his junior season, Philip was elected captain by his teammates and named to the All-Conference team.  Averaging 17.4 points a game as a senior, he was once again named to the All-Conference team.  He finished his career with 1,023 points.  An Iron Key member, he was president of the Senior Class and Phi Delta Theta.  He served on numerous committees and was a member of the Interfraternity Council and the Lettermen's Club.

Graduating in 1961 with a degree in speech, Philip served two years in the U.S. Army.  He then started his business career with John Nuveen and moved on to Clayton Brown where he served as vice president and eventually took a position at Securities Evaluation Services.

An active leader in his community, Philip has served as a Board Member of the Chicago Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and as an Elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Elgin, Illinois.  He has also served his alma mater as a member of the Alumni Board of Directors and Reunion Committee Member.
