Inducted 1981 Growing up in Big Bend, Wisconsin, Bob attended Marquette High School. He earned letters in football and basketball. He entered Lake Forest in 1937 and went on to earn three varsity letters in both basketball and baseball. He served as sports editor for the Stentor his junior and senior years. Graduating with an economics degree, Bob entered the military in 1942 and attained the rank of staff sergeant. He then began a highly successful business career. He served as president of Independent Insurance Agents of Wisconsin from 1962 to 1963 and the National Association of Surety Bond Producers in 1979. He served on the board of directors of the Kellogg Citizens National Bank, Tower Insurance Company Inc., Atlas Insurance Co., Albany Assurance Co. and Bond Pickle Co. Inc. Bob eventually held the position of managing vice president of Alexander and Alexander, Inc. in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He served his alma mater as chairman of the 1941 Reunion Fund campaign, and he also sponsored the McKenna Scholarship Fund.
