Roger W. Siuda '53
Growing up in Chicago, Roger attended Taft High School.  He was a member of the football, basketball and track teams and the choir program.

He entered Lake Forest in 1949 and went on to earn four letters in football.  An All-Conference tackle in 1951 and 1952, he also served as co-captain of the 1952 Conference Championship team.  The team was perhaps the strongest in Lake Forest's history.  It was ranked as the best college team in Illinois by the Chicago Tribune and the second-best defensive team in the nation. In addition to his accomplishments on the field, Roger was a member of the Lettermen's Club, the Athletic Board of Control, the Interfraternity Council, and was president of Kappa Sigma.

After graduating with an economics degree, Roger served for two years in the United States Army.  He eventually settled in Overland Park, Kansas and became president of Fuel Economy Laboratories where sports continued to be part of his life.  He then founded the Great American Basketball League in Kansas City.  The organization started with two fourth grade teams and in four years grew to 113 teams, making it one of the largest leagues in the U.S. Roger also coached girls' softball for the YMCA.
