LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College softball player Christy Condon (Brookfield, WI/Brookfield East) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday (April 11) after helping lead the Foresters to three victories in five games at the annual MWC Classic the previous weekend (April 8-9).

Lake Forest won all three of its games on Saturday, defeating Carroll College 7-1, Lawrence University 7-6, and Ripon College 2-1. Condon was 1-for-2 in the first game with her first home run of the event, a two-run shot that landed well past the fence in left-center field. The game against Lawrence was the only one of the event in which Condon did not homer, although the sophomore outfielder was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs batted in. She finished the day in storybook fashion by belting a walk-off home run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning against Ripon. She had also doubled earlier in the game.

Condon was 2-for-3 with another home run in Sunday’s 5-3 loss to St. Norbert College. Although the Foresters also fell 4-3 to Beloit to close out the weekend, Condon was again 2-for-3 in the contest with a triple and game-tying two-run homer in the top of the sixth inning.

Condon batted .643 (9-for-14) in the five games combined with five runs scored and eight driven in. She doubled, tripled, and hit four round-trippers for an astounding 1.714 slugging percentage.

Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league’s sports information director. Condon also earned the award two weeks earlier.
