Jenny Riddle Named Forester Athlete of the Week
First-year infielder knocked in final two runs in extra-inning triumph

LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College softball player Jenny Riddle (Bloomington, IL/Normal) was named Forester Athlete of the Week for her performance at the plate in a non-conference doubleheader versus North Central College Saturday (March 27). She posted solid numbers in the two games -- a.333 batting average (3-for-9) and a .778 slugging percentage -- but the magnitude of two of her hits was the key in earning the award.

The Foresters faced a 3-2 deficit in the final frame of game one when Riddle belted her first career homer, a solo shot to center field that forced extra innings. She was the hero again with two outs in the bottom of the ninth when her sharp liner to left center scored the winning run from first.

The 4-3 victory ensured a split with the Cardinals, who went on to win game two 14-12. Riddle added a single and an RBI in the loss.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
