Tina Koludrovic had a pair of hits in each game on Friday.
ROCKFORD, IL - The Lake Forest College softball team moved to 9-7 overall and 3-1 in the Midwest Conference Friday (April 12th) with a 13-1 victory (5 innings) over Beloit College and a 2-1 loss to St. Norbert College. All ten teams in the two-division league (North and South) are in Rockford, Illinois for the annual MWC Classic. Each squad will take on all five teams from the other division over two days.

In the game against Beloit, freshman leadoff hitter Alissa Mildebrath (Carol Stream, IL/West Chicago) went 2-for-4 while scoring three runs and driving in four. Junior third baseman Robyn Slater (Granite City, IL/Granite City) also went 2-for-4 with 4 RBI. Both Mildebrath and Slater hit their second home runs of the season.

Three other Foresters, freshman shortstop Tina Koludrovic (Darien, IL/Downers Grove South), junior first baseman Shanon Joselane (Glendale Heights, IL/Glenbard East), and senior centerfielder Erin Valentour (Bolingbrook, IL/Downers Grove South), each added a pair of base hits as well and combined for five runs scored and three driven in.

Sophomore Carly Gilbert (Berthound, CO/Westminster) and freshman Shannon Clerkin (Barneveld, WI/Barneveld) combined on a one-hitter, with Gilbert picking up the victory.

Both teams scored a run in the first inning. Lake Forest added one in the second, eight in the third, one in the fourth and two more in the fifth before the game was called.

Forester hitters were not so fortunate in the second game of the day. After pounding out a dozen base hits against Beloit, Lake Forest managed just five against St. Norbert, two by Koludrovic.

The Green Knights broke open a scoreless game with a run in the bottom of the third inning. Lake Forest responded with one in the top of the fourth on an RBI single by freshman third baseman Kristen Feeney (Brookfield, IL/Lyons Township). A couple of base hits brought home the game-winner for St. Norbert with one out in the sixth.

Lake Forest will be back in action on Saturday (April 13th) when they play Lawrence University (10:00 AM), Carroll College (12:00 PM), and Ripon College (3:00 PM). Lawrence won twice on Friday, Carroll split its two games, and Ripon fell twice to South Division opponents.
