Jessica Kirincich Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Freshman batted .345 with five doubles in nine games

LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College softball player Jessica Kirincich (Channahon, IL/Minooka) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (April 14) for her contributions to the team’s 5-4 record during the previous seven days (April 7-13).

Kirincich batted 1-for-3 in the opener and 2-for-5 in game two of last Thursday’s (April 7) doubleheader sweep of Carthage College. She doubled three times on the day and both scored and drove in two runs.

The Foresters posted a 3-2 record against Midwest Conference North Division schools at the annual MWC Classic in Janesville, Wisconsin, over the weekend (April 9-10). Kirincich had a pair of two-hit game and batted .375 (6-for-16) at the event. The freshman also scored two runs, drove in three, and added another double.

Finally, on Wednesday (April 13), Kirincich was 1-for-5 with a walk, a run scored, an RBI, and yet another double as Lake Forest was swept in a doubleheader at North Central College.

Kirincich batted .345 (10-for-29) in the nine games combined with five doubles, five runs scored, and six driven in. She ranks second on the team this season with a .358 batting average and seven doubles. She is also tied for first on the squad with a pair of triples and tied for second with 15 runs batted in.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
