LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College softball player Tracy Rainey (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (April 15) for her performance in seven games during the previous seven days.

Rainey, a senior shortstop, batted .533 (8-for-15) with two doubles, two home runs, seven runs scored, and eight RBI as Lake Forest won four of five Midwest Conference Classic games last weekend (April 10-11). Along the way she surpassed the previous program record for base hits (169) and runs scored (114) in a career.

On Wednesday (April 14) the Foresters were swept in a doubleheader by Wheaton College. Rainey, however, recorded the 42nd double and 127th run batted in of her career to extend her team records in both categories.

Rainey is batting .363 with three home runs and a team-high 26 runs batted in this season.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Rainey has now earned the award seven times as a softball player and once in basketball.
