Mallory Norton Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Freshman batted .500 with two homers and nine RBI in six games

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College softball player Mallory Norton (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (April 19) for her performance in the team’s six games during the previous four days.

Norton, a freshman third baseman, led the team with a .571 batting average (8-for-14) in five games, including four victories, at the Midwest Conference Classic Sunday and Monday in Janesville, Wisconsin. She doubled twice and belted a pair of home runs for a 1.143 slugging percentage at the event. She also scored three runs, drove in eight, and handled 11 chances in the field without an error. She had two base hits in three of the five contests and drove in three runs twice.

The Foresters fell 12-11 at home to Robert Morris College on Wednesday and Norton was 1-for-4 with an RBI in the contest. She extended her hitting streak to nine games and is batting .467 (14-for-30) during that span.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
