Erin Watts Named Forester Athlete of the Week for Second Time This Year
Sophomore had three base hits in all three Lake Forest victories 

  

Erin Watts has 11 multi-hit games so far this season.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College softball player Erin Watts (Evergreen Park, IL/Evergreen Park) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (April 21) for her contributions to the team’s three victories in as many games in the last seven days.

Watts led Lake Forest to a pair of crucial Midwest Conference victories at home over Monmouth College last Saturday (April 16). She batted 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, two runs scored and a career-high six RBI in the Foresters’ 11-3 victory in the opener. The sophomore added another 3-for-4 performance with two more runs scored and another RBI in game two, a 4-1 triumph.

Lake Forest also won 10-9 at Trinity International University on Monday (April 18) and Watts turned in her third consecutive three-hit game. One of them was her team-high third triple of the season and she chipped in another run scored to finish the week with a .692 batting average, two doubles, a triple, a home run, five runs scored and seven driven in.

In addition to triples, Watts also leads the team this season in batting average (.458), slugging percentage (.723), on-base percentage (.471), doubles (10), runs batted in (23), total bases (60), and stolen bases (13).

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Watts also earned the award two weeks ago.
