LAKE FOREST, IL - Forester softball player Robyn Slater (Granite City, IL/Granite City Senior) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week Tuesday (April 22) for her contributions to Lake Forest's 5-1 record over the last seven days. The team swept Carthage College 4-2 and 10-2 on Wednesday (April 16) and MWC South Division foe Monmouth College 9-1 and 6-0 on Thursday (April 17). The Foresters then split a doubleheader with Aurora University on Friday (April 18), winning the first game 13-2 and falling 7-3 in game two.

Slater batted .579 (11-for-19) in the six games with five doubles and a home run. She also scored four runs and drove in seven.

The senior was 2-for-3 in both games against Carthage and doubled three times. Her second two-bagger of the day was the 30th of her career, surpassing the school record set by 2001 graduate Kim Magee.

Against Monmouth, Slater had three base hits in seven at-bats, including her fourth double of the week.

The third baseman was 2-for-3 in both games against Aurora University and drove in five runs on the day. Her home run in game one was the 11th of her career, breaking a tie with sophomore Alissa Mildebrath (Carol Stream, IL/West Chicago) and 2002 graduate Jenn Reifenberg for first place in the school record books. The long-ball also gave the team captain 186 total bases in her career, one more than the previous school record held by Magee.

Slater is batting .410 this season, leads the team with nine doubles, and is tied for the team lead with 16 runs batted in. She is currently riding a nine-game hitting streak.

The Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are chosen by the league's sports information directors.
