Jordan Ratliff Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Freshman won two games and saved another last weekend

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College softball player Jordan Ratliff (Petersburg, Mich./Summerfield) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (April 22) for her performance in a pair of doubleheader sweeps the previous weekend (April 17-18).

Ratliff, a freshman pitcher, started the weekend by allowing just one base hit while pitching five scoreless innings in a 7-1 victory at Illinois College. She struck out two batters and walked one in the contest. Ratliff also came on in relief in game two of the doubleheader, a 5-2 triumph. She held the Lady Blues without a run on three base hits over three innings to pick up her second save of the season. She added a pair of strikeouts without a walk to her stats for the season.

The next day Ratliff pitched the opener of another doubleheader at Monmouth College. The Foresters won 6-3 and she tossed all seven innings, allowing just one earned run on seven hits while striking out five batters and walking none.

Ratliff is now 9-4 with two saves and a 1.57 earned run average on the season. She has recorded 64 strikeouts and issued just 22 walks in 102.2 innings of work.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Ratliff was also named Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second time this year on Monday.
