SHUTOUT OF LAWRENCE EARNS PARKINSON MWC POW HONORS
Lake Forest's Kate Parkinson, a freshman pitcher
from St. Charles, IL (Glenbard East High School) has been named the Midwest
Conference South Division Co-Player of the Week. Parkinson shutout
the two-time defending MWC champs, Lawrence, 4-0 on Saturday at the UW-Oshkosh
tournament. She scattered eight hits over seven innings, while striking
out three and walking none. Also this week, Parkinson held University
of Chicago, who came into the game with a 14-1-1 record, and UW-Oshkosh
to one run through seven innings before losing both contests in the eighth
inning. Versus Oshkosh, she allowed just two hits.
This is the second consecutive week a Lake
Forest softball player has been named the conference player of the week.
Senior Karen Siska was last week's selection.
