Lake Forest College Softball  News & Notes April 12, 1999  Contact:  Scott Rucker, SID  For Immediate Release SHUTOUT OF LAWRENCE EARNS PARKINSON MWC POW HONORS      Lake Forest's Kate Parkinson, a freshman pitcher from St. Charles, IL (Glenbard East High School) has been named the Midwest Conference South Division Co-Player of the Week.  Parkinson shutout the two-time defending MWC champs, Lawrence, 4-0 on Saturday at the UW-Oshkosh tournament.  She scattered eight hits over seven innings, while striking out three and walking none.  Also this week, Parkinson held University of Chicago, who came into the game with a 14-1-1 record, and UW-Oshkosh to one run through seven innings before losing both contests in the eighth inning.  Versus Oshkosh, she allowed just two hits.       This is the second consecutive week a Lake Forest softball player has been named the conference player of the week.  Senior Karen Siska was last week's selection.       The MWC Sports Information Directors select the conference players of the week.
