FORESTERS DROP RAIN-SOAKED EIGHT INNING AFFAIR VS. CHICAGO
Lake Forest held off University of Chicago, who entered the game with a 14-1-1 record, and the rain for seven innings, but lost their grip and the game 6-2 in eight innings.  The second half of the scheduled doubleheader was rained out.  Freshman Kate Parkinson held Chicago scoreless through the first five innings and to one run through seven innings, but gave up five runs (three earned) in the extra frame.  The Foresters rallied in their half of the eighth to score a run before stranding the bases loaded to end the game.  Lake Forest has played five home games this season, with four of those games decided in extra innings.  All of those games have gone just one extra inning and the Foresters are 1-3 in those games.
Freshman Kara Ellerby got half of the Foresters' six hits on the day and collected the team's only RBI.  Her two-out single in the sixth inning scored senior Karen Siska and tied the game.
The loss dropped LF's overall record to 4-12 and snapped their two-game winning streak.
