Alissa Mildebrath Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Senior became program’s all-time leader in base hits

LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College softball player Alissa Mildebrath (Carol Stream, IL/West Chicago) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (March 10) for her contributions to the Foresters’ 6-4 record during the team’s Spring Break trip to Tucson, Arizona (March 5-10).

Mildebrath was the Foresters’ leadoff hitter in all 10 games and batted .314 (11-for-35) on the trip. The senior doubled, homered, scored seven times and drove in seven runs. She was 10-for-22 (.455) in the team’s last six games. In addition, she committed just one error in 38 chances (.974 fielding pct.) at second base.

With a 3-for-4 performance in the team’s 8-7 victory over DeSales University on Monday (March 7), Mildebrath moved into first place in the school record books with 137 career base hits. She added six more on the trip to raise her total to 143, eight more than the previous record held by Kim Magee ’01. Mildebrath is also the program’s all-time leader in home runs (14) and total bases (219) and, with 93 runs scored in her career, is closing in on the school record of 102.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
