Mallory Norton Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Junior is batting a team-high .389 after six games

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College softball player Mallory Norton (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (March 12) for her performance in the team’s first six contests at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida.

Norton, a junior third baseman, batted .389 (7-for-18) with four runs batted in during the six games combined. She also drew a pair of walks for a .450 on-base percentage. She was 3-for-4 with a triple in the season opener on Sunday (March 8) and drove in three runs in the team’s last victory, a 9-3 triumph over Husson University on Tuesday (March 12).

Norton entered the season batting .366 in her career with 26 doubles, eight home runs, and 50 runs batted in.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Norton also earned the award in back-to-back weeks during the 2007 season.
