LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College softball player Christy Condon (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield East) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday (March 18) for her performance during the team’s 10 games in Kissimmee, Florida, last week.

Condon batted .414 (12-for-29) on the trip and either led the team or tied for the team lead with 12 base hits, four home runs, 25 total bases, and 13 runs batted in. She also scored nine runs and had a slugging percentage of .862.

The senior first baseman/outfielder hit her first career grand slam in last Sunday’s (March 9) season opener and belted a pair of homers in a game for the third time in her career later that day. She had at least one base hit in each of the first seven games of the trip, including a career-high-tying four against Hiram College on Thursday (March 13). She also matched her career-high with four RBI twice on the trip and raised her school record for career home runs to 27 with a round-tripper in Friday’s (March 14) finale.

Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league’s sports information director. Condon, last season’s MWC South Division Co-Position Player of the Year, also earned the weekly award three times as a sophomore in 2006.
