Jeanette Andresen Named Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week
Freshman posted a 3-1 record on team’s trip to Florida

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College softball player Jeanette Andresen (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South) was named Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week Monday (March 26) for her performance at the Rebel Spring Games earlier in the month. She is the league’s first honoree this season and all games played prior to the release date were included in the selection process.

Andresen, a freshman, defeated the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy 4-3 in her collegiate debut on March 10. All three runs were unearned and the right-hander allowed just five base hits and struck out seven batters in the complete game victory.

The following day she came on in relief and earned the victory in the team’s 7-5 triumph over Concordia University (Wis.). She allowed just an unearned run on two base hits in her four innings of work.

After suffereing her first loss on March 13, Andresen raised her record to 3-1 the following day in Lake Forest’s 4-3 win over SUNY Geneseo. She gave up seven hits and struck out four while pitching the game’s entire seven innings.

Andresen, who also played a game at first base and threw the final two-thirds of an inning on the team’s last day of competition, finished the trip with a 1.42 earned run average and 12 strikeouts in 24.2 innings.
