Tracy Rainey Repeats as Forester Athlete of the Week
Junior was 4-for-4 in victory over Northland

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College softball player Tracy Rainey (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (March 26) for her performance in the team’s 11-3 victory over visiting Northland College the previous Sunday (March 22).

Rainey, a junior shortstop, singled in each of her plate appearances for her first career four-hit game. She also scored twice and drove in four runs, including the one that ended the contest in the bottom of the sixth inning.

After 11 games, Rainey leads the Foresters with a .438 batting average, six doubles, and 11 runs batted in. Her .625 slugging percentage and .444 on-base percentage are also team-highs and she is tied for first on the squad with six runs scored.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Rainey also earned the award last week, twice last year in softball, and once during the 2007-08 basketball season.
