Foresters Drop a Pair at Aurora
Jeziorny hits first home run of the year

Lisa Jeziorny's home run was the fourth of her career.
AURORA, IL - The Lake Forest College softball team fell twice at Aurora University on Tuesday (March 28). The Spartans won the opener 7-2 and game two 9-1 in five innings to raise their record on the year to 14-0. Lake Forest is now 6-7.

Junior Lisa Jeziorny (Orland Park, IL/Carl Sandburg) led off game one’s second inning with her first home run of the season to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. The Foresters added one in the top of the fifth when freshman Hannah Michal (Lake Villa, IL/Grayslake) singled in junior Erin Watts (Evergreen Park, IL/Evergreen Park), who had doubled with two outs.

The home team, however, responded with three runs in the bottom of the fifth and four in the six to put the game out of reach.

The Foresters took the early lead in game two as well. With one out, freshman Anna Risi (Highland Park, IL/Highland Park) reached on a two-base error and stole third. She then scored when junior Erin Ruberg (Cincinnati, OH/McNicholas) executed a successful suicide squeeze.

Aurora tied the game with one in the bottom of the first and added two in the second and one more in the third. A five-run fourth inning gave the home team an eight-run lead and the game was called after five innings.

Lake Forest will begin Midwest Conference play this weekend (March 31-April 1). The team will play one doubleheader at Illinois College at 4:00 on Friday and another at Monmouth College at 1:00 on Saturday.
