March 29, 2005 Contact: Mike Wajerski, SID Lake Forest Falls to Aurora in Game One, Teams Tie Game Two The visitors scored three runs in the first inning of game one and added two more in the fifth. The Foresters got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth when sophomore Erin Watts (Evergreen Park, IL/Evergreen Park) reached on an error and scored when the right fielder misplayed a single by senior Kristen Feeney (Brookfield, IL/Lyons Township). After Aurora tacked on two more runs in the top of the seventh, Lake Forest plated two in the bottom of the frame. Both junior Ashley Closson (Murphysboro, IL/Murphysboro) and senior Alissa Mildebrath (Carol Stream, IL/West Chicago) doubled in the inning. Closson was 3-for-3 in the game with a run scored and Mildebrath was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Closson was in the pitcher’s circle in game two and allowed just one run on four base hits, struck out one and walked one. She was also 1-for-3 at the plate in the contest. Watts (2-for-3) was the only Forester with more than one base hit in the game. The home team took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning on a home run launched off the bat of Feeney, who now has three round-trippers on the season and six in her career. The Spartans rallied to tie the game in the top of the sixth and neither team was able to score again. The Foresters will play two more home doubleheaders this weekend (April 1-2). The team will host Robert Morris College at 3:00 p.m. on Friday and will open Midwest Conference play against Illinois College Saturday afternoon at 1:00.
