Foresters Drop a Pair at North Central
Furgerson pitches six strong innings in game one defeat

NAPERVILLE, IL - North Central College swept a doubleheader with visiting Lake Forest College in a non-conference softball match-up on Saturday (March 31st).

North Central (18-2) won for the 15th and 16th straight games, while Lake Forest (5-7) fell below .500.

In the first game, North Central got two runs in the first inning and then answered the Foresters' one run in the sixth inning with two more in the bottom half of the sixth. 

Lake Forest's Leigh Anne Furgerson (Carmel, IN/Westfield) pitched six innings and allowed four runs (two earned) on eight hits. The Foresters scored their lone run on Chris Laurine's (Richmond, IL/Richmond-Burton) RBI single in the sixth inning.

In the second game, North Central pounded out 11 hits, while limiting Lake Forest to just four hits, and jumped out a 9-0 lead after three innings. The game ended after five innings.

Lake Forest will be back in action on Tuesday (April 3rd) when they travel to Lisle, IL to face Benedictine University (IL) for a doubleheader.
