Ashley Closson Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Junior batted 3-for-3 in one game, threw four-hitter in the other 
  

Ashley Closson is batting .417 this year and has a 2.74 ERA.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College softball player Ashley Closson (Murphysboro, IL/Murphysboro) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (March 31) for her performance in the team’s doubleheader against Aurora University on Tuesday (March 29).

Closson played first base and batted 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a run scored in the first game, which Aurora won 7-3. She was in the pitcher’s circle in game two and shut down the Spartans offense, allowing just one run on four base hits with a strikeout and a walk. She was also 1-for-3 at the plate in a 1-1 tie that was called after seven innings because of darkness.

Her season totals so far include a batting average of .417 and an earned run average of 2.74.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
