Erin Watts Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Senior earns final award of the season for the third time

Erin Watts
LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College softball player Erin Watts (Evergreen Park, Ill./Evergreen Park) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (May 10) for her performance at the Midwest Conference Championship Tournament the previous weekend (May 4-5).

Watts, a senior designated player, batted .556 (5-for-9) in the four games combined. Despite an injury that forces her to be replaced by a pinch-runner each time she gets on base, Watts’ five base hits on the weekend included a double and a triple. She also drove in a pair of runs to finish her career with a school record 115 RBI.

Watts batted .478 on the season with a home run and 16 runs batted in. In addition to her school record for RBI, she also completed her career ranked among the top five in team history with a .380 batting average, .596 slugging percentage, 91 runs scored, 159 base hits, 32 doubles, 14 home runs, 249 total bases, and 36 stolen bases.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Watts was also the final weekly award winner her freshman and junior seasons and earned the honor six times in her career.
