Alissa Mildebrath Earns First Team All-American Honors

 Alissa Mildebrath is the first Lake Forest player to be a First Team All-American.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Louisville Slugger and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association released their NCAA Division III All-American Softball Teams Friday (May 16) and Lake Forest College sophomore Alissa Mildebrath (Carol Stream, IL/West Chicago) was a First Team selection. The organizations placed 15 players on each of three teams.

Mildebrath helped Lake Forest win its second straight Midwest Conference Championship and advance to the NCAA Regional Championship Game where the team was eliminated by Wartburg College. The Foresters finished 2003 with a 25-13 record and is 59-25 in Mildebrath's career.

In 2003, Mildebrath led the squad with a .404 batting average, 28 runs scored, three triples, 24 runs batted in, 65 total bases, 15 walks and a .472 on-base percentage. She also tied for the team lead with 44 base hits, three home runs, and four stolen bases.

The second baseman was also an All-Midwest Conference South Division selection for the second straight year and a First Team All-Great Lakes Region choice.

In two seasons, Mildebrath is already tied for the school record with 11 career home runs. She also ranks fourth with 148 total bases and second with a .569 slugging percentage.

Mildebrath is the first Lake Forest player to be selected as a First Team All-American. Junior pitcher Nancy Findeisen was a Third Team selection last year.
