LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region Teams were released Tuesday (May 6) and a pair of Lake Forest College players made the list. Senior outfielder/first baseman Christy Condon (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield East) was a First Team selection and sophomore catcher/second baseman Jill Pfund (Morenci, Mich./Morenci) was named to the Third Team.

Condon, who earned Second Team All-Region honors a year ago, batted .358 and set a school record with 42 runs batted in this season. She also matched her own team record with 11 home runs and finished her career with 34 round-trippers, more than twice as many as any other player in team history and a total that ranks among the top 20 in NCAA Division III history. Her 278 career total bases and .711 slugging percentage are also program bests. She will also appear on the selection ballot for the Louisville Slugger/NCFA All-American Team.

Pfund enjoyed a breakout season during which she batted .344 with seven home runs and 32 runs batted in. She also excelled defensively, throwing out eight of 20 runners attempting to steal bases. She also directed the pitching staff to a 15-9 record and 2.85 earned run average in her starts at catcher. Forester pitchers were 6-5 with a 4.80 ERA when Pfund started at second base.

The Foresters finished the year with an overall record of 21-14 and claimed the MWC South Division title by winning seven of eight league games. Lake Forest also hosted the 2008 MWC Championship Tournament where they made their seventh straight appearance in the title game.
