Five Foresters Named to All-Great Lakes Region Teams
Battery of Findeisen and Reifenberg selected to First Team

Jenn Reifenberg (top) and Nancy Findeisen were named First Team All-Region.
LAKE FOREST, IL - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its NCAA Division III all region teams Thursday (May 9th) and Lake Forest College had five players make the list. Augustana College matched the Foresters with five selections. Benedictine University and North Central College both had four while three other schools had three representatives each.

Pitcher Nancy Findeisen (Beecher, IL/ Beecher) was named to the First Team. The sophomore is 13-5 this season with a 0.72 earned run average, the 12th-lowest mark in the nation. She has already set school records in victories, shutouts (9), strikeouts (128), and is a lock to better the 1.80 school record ERA at year's end. Findeisen has walked just nine batters in 117 innings pitched.

Joining Findeisen on the First Team is senior catcher Jenn Reifenberg (Skokie, IL/Niles West). "Reif" is hitting a career-high .305 on the season with three home runs and a school-record 12 doubles. She ranks second on the team with a .365 on-base percentage and third with a .526 slugging percentage. Behind the plate, Reifenberg has helped Forester pitchers to a team ERA of 0.93 in the 35 games she started.

Lake Forest's lone representative on the Second Team was second baseman Alissa Mildebrath (Carol Stream, IL/West Chicago), who was named Midwest Conference South Division Player of the Year earlier in the day. The freshman is hitting .319 and set a new school record for home runs in a season with eight. She also leads the team with 23 runs scored, 69 total bases, and a .595 slugging percentage.

Mildebrath's fellow freshman double-play partner, shortstop Tina Koludrovic (Darien, IL/Downers Grove South) was named to the Third Team. Koludrovic leads the Foresters with a .392 batting average, a .422 on-base percentage, and five stolen bases. She is also just ahead of Mildebrath with a school record 38 base hits. Koludrovic ranks second on the squad in both runs scored (17) and driven in (18).

Leigh Anne Furgerson's (Carmel, IN/Westfield) selection to the Third Team made Lake Forest the only school in the area to have two pitchers named to the all-region teams. Furgerson is 11-4 with a 1.33 ERA. The sophomore, who also has one shutout and one save to her credit, has struck out 51 batters this season while issuing just eight walks. She won nine consecutive games from April 6-27th.

The Foresters (26-10) are the #1 seed in this weekend's (May 10-13th) NCAA Regional Tournament. Should they win the tourney, they will advance to the 2002 National Championship Tournament in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on May 16-20th.
