The Forester women will be fighting for a Conference title with the efforts of All-American, Chelsea Bueter.
2004-05 Women's Preview: Staying Strong

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Forester women’s team placed second at the Midwest Conference Championship Meet in 2004. Thanks to one swimmer, the team also finished 43rd at the NCAA National Meet. Head Coach Alec Webster hopes to improve on both those finishes in 2005. “The team’s goal next year is to win the conference meet,” he begins. “Along the way, we hope that a number of individuals can qualify for the national meet as well.”

The one swimmer who is planning a return trip to the national meet is Chelsea Bueter, who placed eighth at nationals in the 200-breaststroke and 11th in the 200-individual medley as a freshman last year. She was also named MWC Swimmer of the Year after winning three events on her own and two more as a part of relay teams at the 2004 MWC Championships.

The captains of this year’s squad will be senior Christa Jacobson and junior Erin Colwell, who, along with Bueter, Marie Pool, and Alexandra Hales, won MWC relay titles last season. The team also boasts another individual conference champion in Genia Lindsey, who won the 1650-freestyle in 2003. They will all be joined by a deep and talented freshman class for what Webster hopes is the program’s 10th MWC Championship.
