Wheaton College won the women's meet with 864 points, followed by UW-Milwaukee (861), UW-Stevens Point (567), Hope College (398) Grand Valley State University (334), North Central College (224), Lake Forest College (192), Benedictine University (41) and Albion College (26). The high level of competition seemed to bring out the best in the Forester women, as they combined to swim 32 individual season-best times on the weekend. Senior Diana McGuire (Naperville, IL) and sophomore Erin Motzer (Libertyville, IL) led the way with four apiece. Junior Jie Li (Gurnee, IL) had three, including a first-place time of 2:05.80 in the 200-yard backstroke and a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke in a national meet automatic qualifying time of 57.93 seconds. The team's other top-10 places went to senior Karie Schuenke (Quincy, IL), who was 6th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.54) and Motzer, who was 9th in the 200-yard butterfly (2:19.14). In the men's meet, Hope College took home the team title with 771 points, followed by UW-Milwaukee (760.5), UW-Stevens Point (670.5), Wheaton College (622.5), Grand Valley State University (241), North Central College (164), Lake Forest College (159), Albion College (60), and Benedictine University (14). Not to be outdone by the women's team, the men accumulated 35 individual season-bests on the weekend, led by sophomore Anthony Laurino's (Wichita, KS) five. Laurino had the team's highest individual finish in the meet with his sixth-place performance in the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:34.77). Junior Brandon Johnson (Phoenix, AZ) finished seventh in the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 4:36.89. Two freshmen, Brady Lowdermilk (Parker, CO) and Aaron Lawlor (Vernon Hills, IL), each had ninth-place finishes, Lowdermilk in the 200-yard backstroke (2:01.00) and Lawlor in the 200-yard butterfly (2:08.87). The team's final meet of the fall semester will be this Saturday (December 9th) at home against Carroll College and Illinois Institute of Technology, beginning at 11:00 AM.
