Foresters Place Seventh in TYR/CollegeSwimming.com Classic
Bueter wins the 400-individual medley

KENOSHA, WI - The Lake Forest College swimmers competed in the TYR/CollegeSwimming.com Classic at Carthage College over the weekend (December 2-3) and both the men and women placed seventh. St. Could State University won the women’s competition and Gustavus Adolphus College placed first in the men’s team competition.

Junior Chelsea Bueter (Swisher, IA/Prairie) was most successful Forester in the meet. She won the 400-individual medley in 4:44.52 and placed second in the 200-breaststroke with a time of 2:31.52. In addition, Bueter placed seventh in the 200-butterfly (2:19.46) and 10th in the 200-IM (2:17.31).

Sophomore Michael Ojdana (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier) was the top performer on the men’s team with ninth-place finishes in both the 500-freestyle (4:53.57) and 200-freestyle (1:48.81). He was also 10th in the 1650-freestyle in 17:30.86 and 15th in the 50-freestyle in 22.88 seconds.

Sophomore Mia Hable (Hudson, OH/Hudson) placed ninth in the 1650-freestyle (19:16.05) and 14th in the 500-freestyle (5:34.79). Freshman Jenna Sasanfar (Tonka Bay, MN/Minnetonka) turned in 11th-place finishes in both the 100-backstroke (1:05.45) and 200-backstroke (2:22.66). Sophomore Lauren Peterson (Arvada, CO/J.K. Mullen) recorded a trio of top-15 performances by placing 12th in the 100-breaststroke (1:15.59), 13th in the 200-breaststroke (2:43.00), and 14th in the 400-IM (5:02.09).

Senior Aaron Koop (Newton, KS/Newton) helped out the men’s team with 15th-place finishes in the 400-IM (4:45.72) and 200-breaststroke (2:26.08) and junior Jon D’Angelo (Ann Arbor, MI/Ann Arbor) also placed 15th in the 200-butterfly (2:08.39).

After the holidays the Foresters will depart for Clearwater, Florida, on January 2 and return nine days later. Their first competition once they return is at the Hope Quadrangular on Saturday, January 14.
