Forester Swimmers 7th at Wheaton Invitational
Bueter wins 200-Breastroke and 200-IM

Chelsea Bueter enters the semester break having won 13 of 14 individual races.
WHEATON, IL - The Lake Forest College swim teams faced their toughest competition of the season at the Wheaton College Invitational Friday and Saturday (December 5-6). In a meet that featured squads from Division I and Division II, plus three top-ten Division III teams, the Lake Forest men and women finished seventh. UW-Milwaukee took the top spot in both meets.

The Foresters' best performance was registered by freshman Chelsea Bueter (Swisher, IA/Prairie). She was victorious in the 200-Breaststroke (2:27.33) and 200-Individual Medley (2:12.87) and placed second in the 400-IM (4:41.78). It was the first time this season that Bueter hasn't won all her individual events in a meet.

Sophomore Genia Lindsey (Albuquerque, NM/Sandia) and senior Brady Lowdermilk (Parker, CO/Regis) qualified for the finals in two events. Lindsey finished 11th in the 400-IM (4:52.86) and 16th in the 100-Breaststroke (1:13.31). Lowdermilk placed 12th and 13th, respectively, in the 200-Backstroke (2:04.14) and 200-Butterfly (2:07.29).

Four more Foresters reached the finals in one event. Sophomore Erin Colwell (Northfield, MN/Northfield) finished 11th in the 200-Butterfly (2:19.45), followed closely by junior Emily Woods (Signal Mountain, TN/Girls Prep), who was 12th in 2:19.56. Senior Aaron Lawlor (Vernon Hills, IL/Libertyville) claimed 15th in the 200-Butterfly and sophomore Aaron Koop (Newton, KS/Newton) swam the 400-Inidividual Medley in 4:48.52, good for 16th place.

Head Coach Alec Webster knew what he was getting into when he scheduled this annual trip to Wheaton and is not worried about the final scores. "With the exception of Nationals, this is the fastest meet we'll swim in this season" he stated. "I think it is important to get a taste of national competition because it will make us work even harder and, in the end, make us a better team."

Lake Forest travels to Tempe, Arizona, for their annual training trip January 2-11 before opening up second-semester competition with a January 17 quad at Hope College.
