KENOSHA, Wis. - The Forester swimmers competed in the highly-competitive TYR/CollegeSwimming.com Classic at Carthage College over the weekend (December 5-6). Lake Forest placed seventh in both the men's and women's team standings. St. Cloud State University won the women's competition and Carthage prevailed on the men's side.

The top 20 in most events (top 30 in the 50- and 100-freestyle) advance to the evening's finals - 10 in each heat.

His time of 54.61 seconds in the 100 is the fastest by a Midwest Conference swimmer so far this season and his 2:01.65 in the 200 ranks second. Fellow junior Taylor Wright (Williams, Calif./Williams) was 16th in the preliminaries of the 50-freestyle in 22.45 seconds, the fastest time in the conference so far this season, but was disqualified in the finals.

The Forester women were led by Emily Watts (Danville, Ind./Danville Community), who placed 11th in the 50-freestyle (25.92 seconds), 13th in the 100-freestyle (56.00), and 15th in the 100-breaststroke (1:12.93). Her freestyle times rank second in the conference and the 100-breaststroke time is currently fourth.

Freshman Claire Perrott (Northfield, Minn./Colegio San Isidro de Heredia) finished 19th in the 100-butterfly (1:08.69), 20th in the 1650-freestyle (20:26.26), and 25th in the 100-freestyle (59.00).

Sophomore Lisa Carpenter (Edina, Minn./Edina) placed 14th in the 1650-freestyle with the second-best time (19:36.93) in the conference this season and 19th in the 400-individual medley (5:13.68).

Finally, sophomore Whitney Hales (New Iberia, La./Episcopal School of Acadinda) placed 12th in the 200-breaststroke in 2:42.18.
