A couple of first-year Forester swimmers claimed two more wins in the freestyle events. Genia Lindsey (Albuquerque, NM/Sandia), who scored 13 points, took the 800 free in 9:49.90 and was third in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:21.60). Liz Eberlein (Troy, MI/Marian) posted a winning time of 2:18.12 in the 200 free and followed that up with a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter butterfly (1:11.02). The women's fifth winner was senior Dana Tate (Appleton, WI/Appleton East). She tallied 194.55 points to narrowly defeat Calvin's Julie Erickson in the 1-meter diving competition. In the men's 95-126 loss, the Foresters had three event winners who all put up double figures in points. Junior Matt Gaulding (San Rafael, CA/Army Navy Academy) led the team with 18 points, winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. Senior Brandon Johnson (Phoenix, AZ/Brophy) scored 16 points as he won the 800-meter freestyle (9:20.75) and finished second in the 400 free (4:31.85) and third in the 200-meter IM (2:25.00). Junior Brady Lowdermilk (Parker, CO/Regis) also went 1-2-3 in his three events and totaled 13 points. Both Lake Forest teams are now 2-2 in dual meets. On Saturday (February 8) they will have the opportunity to close out their dual meet season with a winning record with a home win over the Illinois Institute of Technology. The Foresters will celebrate Parents' Day, Alumni Day and Senior Day, honoring eight swimmers and one diver who will be competing in the Lake Forest pool for the last time. The meet begins at 11:00 a.m.
