Randi Estes won three individual events.
LAKE FOREST, IL - The Lake Forest College swimming & diving teams hosted Calvin College on Saturday (February 3rd). Calvin proved to be the better team on this day, defeating the Forester women 137-106 and the men 152-80.

On the women's side, junior Randi Estes (LaBelle, FL) won the 200-meter freestyle in 2:13.93, the 100-meter butterfly in 1:08.16 and the 400-meter freestyle in 4:41.50. Junior Jie Li (Gurnee, IL) added two first-place finishes for the Foresters, winning the 50-meter freestyle in 28.33 seconds and the 100-meter backstroke in 1:06.62. The 200-meter medley relay team of Li, sophomore Erin Poynter (Fort Collins, CO), senior Karie Schuenke (Quincy, IL) and senior Diana McGuire (Naperville, IL) swam its fastest time of the season (2:10.90).

In the men's competition, sophomore Eric Boarini (Wadsworth, IL), who recently transferred to Lake Forest, made his debut for the Foresters a success by winning the 100-meter freestyle in 54.82 seconds and also swimming the team's fastest time this season in the 200-freestyle (2:01.72). Other team season-bests included senior Steve Williams's (Leawood, KS) 100-meter breaststroke (1:12.57), freshman Aaron Lawlor's (Vernon Hills, IL) 100-meter butterfly (1:01.66) and both the 200-freestyle (1:42.73) and medley (1:56.08) relays.

Head coach Alec Webster hopes that, after taking two weekends off from racing, this meet will get his teams back in the competitive mode just in time for the Midwest Conference Championship Meet, being held this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (February 9-11th) at Grinnell College.
