February 5, 2005 Contact: Mike Wajerski, SID Foresters Take 3 of 4 in Final Meet Before Conference Championships Four Foresters provided a good deal of the scoring punch with two victories apiece. Junior Erin Colwell (Northfield, MN/Northfield) won the 200-meter freestyle (2:22.38) and 100-meter backstroke (1:17.36) and sophomore Chelsea Bueter (Swisher, IA/Prairie) captured the 100 butterfly (1:08.56) and 200 individual medley (2:30.48). For the second consecutive week, freshman diver Kendall Swett (Akron, OH/Hawken) swept the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions with national meet-qualifying numbers. She scored 297.30 points off the 3-meter board and 264.25 off the 1-meter. The final dual winner was freshman Michael Ojdana (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier), who was first to the wall in the 100 (55.92) and 200 (1:59.36) freestyles. He also claimed a victory as part of the 200-meter freestyle relay team. Freshmen Mia Hable (Hudson, OH/Hudson) and Nicholas Primrose (Mayfield Heights, OH/Mayfield) registered the Foresters' ninth and tenth individual wins of the meet. Hable took first in the 400-meter freestyle (4:56.60) and added a runner-up finish in the 800 freestyle (10:06.94). Primrose's triumph came in one of the most exciting races of the meet. His time of 25.70 in the 50-meter freestyle was just two hundredths of a second better than that of Luke Shorette of IIT. The Lake Forest men's squad opened and closed their meet with relay victories. In the 200-meter medley, Primrose teamed with junior Aaron Koop (Newton, KS/Newton) and sophomores Jon D'Angelo (Ann Arbor, MI/Ann Arbor) and Derek Drayer (Albuquerque, NM/Eldorado) to post a time of 1:58.36. Primrose and Drayer then combined with Michael Ojdana and freshman Steven Crabbe (Tucson, AZ/University) to take the 200-meter freestyle relay in 1:42.48. The Foresters are on the road this weekend at the Midwest Conference Championship Meet at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa. Competition begins at 10:00 a.m. Friday (February 11) and concludes Sunday evening. Preliminary heats and finals will take place on all three days.Lake Forest Results: Women | Men
