Three of Four in Double Dual Meet
In the women's competition Lake Forest won eleven of thirteen events to rout both Illinois Institute of Technology 83-22 and North Central 89-19. First-year standout Chelsea Bueter (Swisher, IA/Prairie) and sophomore Marie Pool (Redding, CA/Central Valley) led the way with three wins apiece and five other Foresters had two each. Bueter recorded victories in the 100-Meter Breaststroke (1:17.34), 100-Butterfly (1:07.48) and 200-Individual Medley (2:28.47). Her time in the breaststroke was her best this season. It was a different combination for Pool, who garnered one individual win in the 50-Meter Freestyle (28.66) and two more as part of different relay squads. She teamed with junior Emily Woods (Signal Mountain, TN/Girls Prep) and sophomore Maura Ryan (Chicago, IL/St. Ignatius Prep) to make up three quarters of the 200-Medley and 200-Freestyle relay teams that clocked the second and third fastest times, respectively, for Lake Forest this season. Also joining the list of dual winners were freshman Anne Haas (South Berwick, ME/St. Thomas Aquinas), who took the 400- (5:00.80) and 800-Freestyles (11:28.20), sophomore Erin Colwell (Northfield, MN/Northfield), a winner in the 200-Freestyle (2:20.07) and 200 Medley relay, and senior Julie Weglarz (Phoenix, AZ/Xavier College Prep), who triumphed in both the 1-Meter (182.95 points) and 3-Meter (184.15) diving events. On the men's side, the Foresters
beat North Central 58-32 but were defeated by the Scarlet Hawks 66-41.
Brady
Lowdermilk (Parker, CO/Regis) and Jeremy
Koop (Newton, KS/Newton) celebrated senior day in style by registering
an individual victory and contributing to two runner-up finishes in the
200-Freestyle and 200-Medley relays. Lowdermilk's victory came in the 100-Meter
Backstroke (1:03.80), while Koop reached the wall first in the 100-Breaststroke
with a time of 1:12.68.
