Ojdana and Swett Named MWC Performers of the Week
Freshmen earn conference’s weekly honor for second time 

  

Michael Ojdana and Kendall Swett combined for four
victories in the Foresters' double dual meet on Saturday.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College freshmen Michael Ojdana (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier) and Kendall Swett (Akron, OH/Hawken) were named Midwest Conference men’s and women’s swimming & diving performers of the week Tuesday (February 8) for their performances Saturday (February 5) in the Foresters' double dual meet against the Illinois Institute of Technology and North Central College.

Ojdana won the 200-meter freestyle by nearly 10 seconds with a time of 1:59.36. He also touched the wall first in the 100-meter freestyle in 55.92 seconds. Finally, he finished the meet off by anchoring the winning 200-meter freestyle relay team, which finished in 1:42.48.

Swett posted her second consecutive national meet qualifying score in the 1-meter diving competition and her fourth straight qualifying mark off the 3-meter board. She took first place in both events with season-best scores of 264.25 and 297.30, respectively.

It is the last week of the season the conference will be handing out the awards. Both Ojdana and Swett also captured the league’s first Performer of the Week honors of the year on November 16.
