Lake Forest Competes in Quadrangular at Hope College
Kendall Swett wins both diving competitions

Kendall Swett set a school and pool record in 1-meter diving.
HOLLAND, MI - The Forester swimming & diving teams each placed fourth at the Hope College Quadrangular on Saturday (January 14). Hope narrowly won the women’s competition and Wheaton College placed first on the men’s side.

Lake Forest’s lone victories at the meet belonged to sophomore diver Kendall Swett (Akron, OH/Hawken), who posted the highest score off both boards. Her mark of 285.35 in the 1-meter competition broke the previous school record and shattered the best score ever posted at Holland Aquatic Center. It was also an NCAA national meet-qualifying mark, as was her 287.50 off the 3-meter board. Fellow sophomore Maggie Rezac (Omaha, NE/Marian) was the runner-up in 1-meter diving (251.95) and placed third off the higher board (256.15).

Junior Chelsea Bueter (Swisher, IA/Prairie) was the only other Forester woman to place in the top three. She was second in the 200-breaststroke with a time of 2:31.30 and third in the 200-individual medley in 2:17.41. Sophomore Mia Hable (Hudson, OH/Hudson) finished fourth in the 1000-freestyle with a time of 11:21.70 and sophomore Lauren Petersen (Arvada, CO/J.K. Mullen) was fourth in the 200-breaststroke in 2:39.84.

The top finisher for the Forester men was sophomore Michael Ojdana (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier), who placed third in the 200-freestyle (1:48.73), fourth in the 500-freestyle (5:02.03), and fifth in the 100-freestyle (50.31). Junior Jon D’Angelo (Ann Arbor, MI/Ann Arbor) and senior Aaron Koop (Newton, KS/Newton) finished six in the 200-butterfly (2:12.85) and 200-breaststroke (2:24.58), respectively.

The Foresters will compete in the Lawrence University Invitational next Saturday (January 21) and will travel to Benedictine University for a dual meet the following Saturday (January 28).
