Randi Estes Named Forester Athlete of the Week
  

Randi Estes won the 500-yard freestyle and placed 2nd in two other events on Saturday.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College women's swimmer Randi Estes (LaBelle, FL) has been named the Forester Athlete of the Week for the week of January 11-17th. Thanks in part to the performance of Estes, the Forester women's swim team placed third in the highly competitive Wheaton Quadrangular on Saturday (January 13th).

Estes was the individual winner in the 500-yard freestyle event, finishing in 5:18.43, more than four seconds ahead of the second-place swimmer and her second individual season-best of the day. Earlier, she swam the butterfly stroke on Lake Forest's second-place 400-yard medley relay team, which finished in a season-best 4:14.29. Estes followed that up with a second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:14.82, her best time of the year and just 1.83 seconds slower than the national meet B-cut qualifying time.

The Lake Forest College Athletic Department selects a Forester Athlete of the Week each Thursday.
