Lake Forest Men and Women Prevail at Benedictine
Sasanfar, Bueter, and Drayer each win two individual events

LISLE, IL - Both the Forester men’s and women’s swim teams won at Benedictine University on Saturday (January 28). The men triumphed 79-56 and the women recorded a 106-70 victory. Both squads are now 4-2 in dual meets this season.

Junior Derek Drayer (Albuquerque, NM/Eldorado) posted a pair of individual victories, placing first in both the 100-butterfly (58.25) and 100-backstroke (1:02.43). Freshman Dustin Koch (Carmel, IN/Carmel) also touched the wall first in the 200-freestyle (2:02.88), sophomore Michael Ojdana (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier) triumphed in the 200-individual medley (2:07.69), and Aaron Koop (Newton, KS/Newton) won the 100-freestyle (53.02).

On the women’s side, junior Chelsea Bueter (Swisher, IA/Prairie) posted victories in the 200-freestyle (2:07.55) and 100-butterfly (1:01.92) and freshman Jenna Sasanfar (Tonka Bay, MN/Minnetonka) added back-to-back wins in the 100-freestyle (1:01.59) and 100-backstroke (1:06.91). Other event winners included senior Erin Colwell (Northfield, MN/Northfield) in the 1000-freestyle (11:53.90), junior Alexandra Hales (New Iberia, LA/Episcopal School) in the 50-freestyle (27.95), and sophomore Mia Hable (Hudson, OH/Hudson) in the 200-individual medley (2:23.35).

Lake Forest will host Illinois Institute of Technology next Saturday (February 4) at 11:00 a.m. It will be the team’s final dual meet of the season and its final tune-up for the Midwest Conference Championships on February 10-12.
