LAKE FOREST, IL - The Lake Forest College swimming and diving teams hosted Benedictine University Saturday (January 29) and recorded convincing wins. The men outscored the Eagles 92-35 to move to 2-3 in dual meets, while the women improved to 4-1 with a 113-59 triumph.

Leading the way for the Forester men were sophomore Derek Drayer (Albuquerque, NM/Eldorado) and freshman Michael Ojdana (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier). Drayer won both the 50-meter freestyle (26.15) and 100-meter backstroke (1:07.65) and Ojdana matched his effort with victories in the 100 free (56.65) and 200 individual medley (2:24.36).

Junior Aaron Koop (Newton, KS/Newton) took the top spot in the 200-meter freestyle (2:12.82) and sophomore Jon D'Angelo (Ann Arbor, MI/Ann Arbor) added a win in the 100 butterfly (1:05.29).

The big news on the women's side was the performances of first-year divers Kendall Swett (Akron, OH/Hawken) and Maggie Rezac (Omaha, NE/Marian), both of whom were impressive in reaching national meet qualifying standards. Swett set a Lake Forest College record in the process, posting a score of 297.25 on the 3-meter board. She registered 257.55 points on the 1-meter board. Rezac scored 273.15 points in the 3-meter competition and 249.55 in the 1-meter event.

Five other Forester women posted at least one victory, with sophomore Alexandra Hales (New Iberia, LA/Episcopal School) garnering two in the 50 (31.18) and 100 freestyles (1:05.69).

One swimmer from each class joined Hales in the win column -- freshman Stephanie Kierzek (Vernon Hills, IL/Vernon Hills)  in the 200 free (2:22.68), sophomore Chelsea Bueter (Swisher, IA/Prairie) in the 200 individual medley (2:33.45), junior Genia Lindsey (Albuquerque, NM/Sandia) in the 800 freestyle (10:24.56) and senior Kassie Lennox (Lake Forest, IL/Lake Forest) in the 100 butterfly (1:18.61).
