Lake Forest places 29th in the nation

HOUSTON, Texas - The Lake Forest College women’s swimming & diving team placed 29th at the NCAA Division III National Championships over the weekend (March 8-10), despite the fact that only one Forester participated in the meet.

Junior Maggie Rezac (Omaha, Neb./Marian) placed sixth in the 1-meter competition on Thursday with 408 points. She then finished third off the 3-meter board on Sunday with a score of 473.70. She was one of just four divers to reach the finals (top eight) in both events.

Rezac has now earned All-American honors five times in her career, with this year’s third-place finish as her highest placing. She was seventh off the 1-meter board last year and sixth as a freshman. She finished eighth in 2006 in the 3-meter competition and 13th two seasons ago.

It was the third consecutive season and 11th in the program’s history that the Foresters placed among the top 30 teams in the country.
