HOLLAND, MI - Thanks to All-American performances by a pair of freshman divers, the Lake Forest College women’s swimming & diving team placed 27th at the 2005 NCAA Division III National Championship Meet over the weekend (March 10-12). Emory University was the team champion.

Maggie Rezac (Omaha, NE/Marian) was the first to achieve All-American (top eight) status with a sixth-place finish in the 1-meter diving competition on Thursday. She posted a score of 362.45. Kendall Swett (Akron, OH/Hawken) placed 13th in the event with 319.85.

Swett turned in the better performance of the two off the 3-meter board on Friday and Saturday. Her score of 399.30 was good for fifth place while Rezac finished 13th with 363.40.

They are the fifth and sixth divers in team history to be named All-American and the first in 14 years. The program’s only other freshman All-American diver was Lynn Adami in 1980.
