Chelsea Bueter Named Forester Athlete of the Week
All-American honored for the third time this season

Chelsea Bueter is a three-time Forester Athlete of the Week.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College swimmer Chelsea Bueter (Swisher, IA/Prairie) was named Forester Athlete of the Week after her All-American performance at the NCAA Division III National Championship Meet last weekend (March 11-13). It is Bueter’s third time this season as athlete of the week. The freshman earned the distinction in November as well as last month.

Last Thursday, Bueter posted the 15th-fastest 200-individual medley time in the preliminaries but moved up four places to 11th in the finals that evening with a school record time of 2:10.01. On Friday, Bueter finished the 400-individual medley 22nd overall with a time of 4:41.08. Although she did not qualify for the finals in that event, her 200-breastroke time of 2:24.11 in the preliminaries on Saturday was good enough for an eighth-place finish and landed her in the finals where she finished eighth again.

Bueter becomes the 31st Forester female to earn All-American honors and the first to earn the distinction since 2001. She set a school record in the 200-breaststroke (2:23.99) earlier in the season and was named Midwest Conference Swimmer of the Year after winning three individual races and participating on a pair of victorious relay teams at the MWC Championship Meet on February 13-15.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
