Maggie Rezac Named First Team Academic All-District by ESPN The Magazine
Senior will appear on Academic All-American ballot

Maggie Rezac
LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College diver Maggie Rezac (Omaha, Neb./Marian) was named First Team Academic All-District V College Division by ESPN The Magazine and the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday (May 22). An athlete must possess a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 to be nominated for the award.

Rezac, a senior, was the runner-up in the 1-meter diving competition at the 2008 NCAA Division III Championship Meet and placed third off the 3-meter board. Her score in the latter event was actually higher than the previous national meet record. The top eight finishers in each event earn All-American honors and Rezac attained that status in an individual event seven times in her career, more than anyone else in team history. She is also a three-time Midwest Conference Diver of the Year and has claimed five individual titles in her career at the conference meet. Rezac set dual meet school records off both boards on February 2 and also owns the program’s 1-meter mark for 11 dives. She was the team’s captain and Most Valuable Performer in 2007-08 as well as the program’s representative on the Lake Forest College All-Sportsmanship Team.

The psychology major finished her four years at the College with a 3.89 cumulative grade point average. During the last two years she earned Lake Forest’s Junior and Senior Scholar Athlete Award for having the highest grade point average among student-athletes in the same class over the previous three semesters. Rezac is also a three-time Academic All-Midwest Conference honoree and garnered Second Team Academic All-District V College Division accolades from CoSIDA in 2006.

First Team Academic All-District honorees from each of the eight districts will now appear on the Academic All-American ballot.
