Kendall Swett posted a national meet-qualifying mark.
WHITEWATER, WI - The Lake Forest College swimming and diving teams traveled to Wisconsin Wednesday (November 10) for a dual meet with the Warhawks of the University of Wisconsin -Whitewater. The Foresters kept it close in men’s action, but could not hang on for the win. Scoring early and often, the women chalked up a 141-102 victory to improve their record to 3-1.

Lake Forest’s women took first place in the first five individual races after a second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. Sophomore Chelsea Bueter (Swisher, IA/Prairie) was 3-for-3 with first-place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.87), 100-yard backstroke (1:06.28), and 200-yard individual medley (2:18.54). Junior Erin Colwell (Northfield, MN/Northfield) was victorious in the 200-yard freestyle (2:08.30) and second in both the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.84) and 500-yard freestyle (5:38.92). Freshman Mia Hable (Hudson, OH/Hudson) took first in the 500-yard freestyle (5:38.30) and the 1000-yard freestyle (11:28.13). Sophomore Alexandra Hales (New Iberia, LA/Episcopal School) captured the 50-yard freestyle (27.23) and placed second in the 100-yard freestyle (58.69). Newcomer Lauren Petersen (Arvada, CO/J K Mullen) won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.27) and placed third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.92).

Lake Forest freshman diver Kendall Swett (Akron, OH/Hawken) had an outstanding meet, outscoring all Warhawk divers on both boards. Swett totaled 225.30 points in the 1-meter competition and her 3-meter dives placed her 43 points ahead of the closest Warhawk diver. Swett’s 272.75 points scored on the 3-meter board are within the National qualifying range. If Swett can reach the standard in another meet, she will have qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championship Meet.

The Forester men fell short of UW-Whitewater 161-74. Freshman Michael Ojdana (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier) led the men with first-place finishes in both the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.46) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:05.82). Classmate Nicholas Primrose (Mayfield Heights, OH/Mayfield) placed first in the 50-yard freestyle (23.50) and third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.37). Junior Aaron Koop (Newton, KS/Newton) and sophomores Jon D’Angelo (Ann Arbor, MI/Ann Arbor) and Derek Drayer (Albuquerque, NM/Eldorado) also scored points for the Foresters.
