Lake Forest swept the second event of the meet, the 1000-freestyle. Senior Anne Haas (South Berwick, Maine/St. Thomas Aquinas) posted a time of 11:48.96 to claim first on the women’s side and freshman Josh D’Angelo (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) completed the race in 10:47.30, just 0.12 seconds faster than Whitewater’s top distance swimmer. In addition, D’Angelo triumphed in the 500-freestyle later in the meet with a time of 5:16.25. Senior Chelsea Bueter (Swisher, Iowa/Prairie) and junior Michael Ojdana (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) also won a pair of individual events. Bueter touched wall first in the 200-individual medley (2:19.83) and 100-backstroke (1:05.19). Ojdana prevailed in the 200-freestyle (1:48.03) and 100-freestyle (49.25) and led off on the victorious 400-freestyle relay (3:24.88). He was joined on the relay by sophomore Dustin Koch (Carmel, Ind./Carmel), senior Derek Drayer (Albuquerque, N.M./Eldorado), and junior Nick Primrose (Mayfield, Ohio/Mayfield). Junior Maggie Rezac (Omaha, Neb./Marian) won the 1-meter diving competition with a 6-dive score of 233.80. She also placed second off the 3-meter board (217.30). The Foresters will be back in action on Saturday (November 18) at the University of Chicago. The double-dual meet between Lake Forest, Chicago, and Grinnell College will begin at 2:00 p.m.
